Halid Bešlić is one of the most beloved folk singers from Bosnia and Herzegovina and a true legend of Balkan music. He was born on November 20, 1953, in the village of Knežina near Sokolac, Bosnia and Herzegovina. From a young age, Halid showed a strong passion for music and began performing in local cafés and restaurants before becoming famous across the former Yugoslavia.

His music career officially started in the 1970s, but he gained massive popularity during the 1980s with hit songs such as Miljacka, Romanija, and Prvi poljubac. His emotional voice, traditional folk style, and heartfelt lyrics quickly made him one of the most respected singers in the Balkan region.

Throughout his long career, Halid released many successful albums and performed in sold-out concerts across Europe, especially for Balkan communities living abroad. His music combines traditional Bosnian folk with modern influences, creating a timeless sound loved by multiple generations.
